Tin Tile Cost Analysis

Calculating the cost of tin tile ceiling and wall products involve multiple factors and is much more in depth than that of conventional material. When you see prices listed, providers have already taken into consideration multiple factors to ensure profits. Factors that providers take into consideration when determining prices include but are not limited to:

A) Type or Series: Some types are more expensive than others based on their popularity. Are you looking at the most popular style, are you looking at their lightest in weight panels, are you looking at an old world style panel, etc. most providers have many styles to choose from all of which usually have different prices.

B) Panel Size: Panel a.k.a. medallions come in various measurements. Depending on the manufacturer or provider, you can get them 6 in. X 6 in. to 6ft. X 6ft. and possibly larger. Depending of the provider, usually the more you buy the more you save.

C) Quantity: A general rule when purchasing any crafting material is “the more you buy, the more you save”. This holds true for Tin tile ceilings. Purchasing in bulk is probably a good idea if you plan on remodeling multiple rooms.

D) Color: Your options are truly endless. Some providers do charge more for particular colors, some don’t.

E) Domestic or Imported Materials: There are many manufactures all across the U.S. Typically, it’s not necessary to have to shop overseas unless you are looking for a very unique type, brand, or pattern that you cannot find here. If you do shop overseas, expect to pay quite a bit more. Domestic providers have so many product offerings that you will not have any problem finding what you want. If you order from out of state you will probably have to pay shipping and handling which is minimal.

F) When and Where You Purchase From: This is key, most home crafting projects take place in the warmer months. If you know your going to begin installation in the warmer months to come, it would be a benefit to purchase during the colder months when providers are more likely to have sales going on as you may be able to save money. Where you purchase may come with a “brand name” price. If the name of the store you’re shopping in is well known, popular, and conveniently located, you can expect a price increase from that of other locations.

G) Finished or Unfinished: You can expect to pay less for unfinished than finished panels simply because you have to finish the look of one and not the other.
